Here’s how you can watch the Olympic women’s hockey game between Sweden and Japan on Saturday via live stream

The 2018 Winter Olympics are officially underway. Because the games are in South Korea, some events will be held at weird hours, especially in the United States. On Saturday, Feb. 10, beginning at 2:40 a.m. ET, Olympic women’s hockey will get underway when Sweden faces Japan in the group stage.

These two teams are in Group B, the lesser of the two divisions. Sweden enters the Olympics as the fifth-ranked women’s hockey team, according to the IIHF. In the 2014 games, they finished fourth. Sweden has a relatively young roster, with no one over 30 years old.

They’ll be led by the strength of their forwards. Five of them are averaging over a point per game with their club. Sweden will rely heavily on Emma Nordin, who has 24 goals and 27 assists for 51 points in 30 games. This will be her third Olympics. On a relatively young team, Nordin’s experience should be valuable.

Forward Hanna Olsson, a 19-year-old, is a bit of an unknown, as this will be her first Olympics game. But in a small sample size, she has dominated at the international level and has 37 points in 21 games in the SDHL.

Meanwhile, Japan’s women’s hockey team will be participating in their third Winter Olympics. They finished sixth in 2014 and come into South Korea ranked seventh. Japan recently won the gold medal at the 2017 Asian Games, which helped them qualify for the Olympics. Forward Hanae Kubo is their most notable player, putting up three points in her five games at the Olympics.

Japan has five players on their roster who are at least 30 years old. Their youngest player, defenseman Aoi Shiga, is 18 years old. Japan will rely on their defense to carry them.

Sweden is the favorite to win this game. However, Japan’s a bit of an unknown quantity, so they’re quite capable of pulling off an upset.
