Tennessee Titans

If DeMarcus Lawrence would like to continue to have the possibility of winning while getting paid he could look to the Tennessee Titans. He would join fellow NFC East cast off Brian Orakpo to give the Titans a pass rush they lacked most of the season.

In the 2016 draft, the Titans used the 33rd-overall pick on Clemson edge rusher Kevin Dodd. The talented player has not panned out in Tennessee. During his first two seasons he’s managed only one sack in 16 career games. He only started one of those games.

Even after making the playoffs and advancing to the divisional round, the Titans have some glaring holes. Pass rush would be one of them. They addressed two big holes (cornerback and wide receiver) this past offseason by the way of free agency and the draft. Tennessee could elect to do the same with their pass rush.

Lawrence would be the key prize for any pass rush needy team. Tennessee finished in the middle of the pack in terms of overall sacks and sack percentage. They would still be wise to address the position.

Orakpo is 31 years old. Their other players that led the team in sacks are 28 in Derrick Morgan and Jurell Casey. Those three managed 20.5 of the teams 42 total sacks. Their production will likely dip next season.

Enter Lawrence who would immediately make an impact. A solid pass rush, like the Titans would have with Lawrence and the above mentioned players, is the best way to help a young secondary. If the Titans want to keep up with the rest of the surging AFC South, a player like Lawrence would go a long way.
