Olympics Men’s hockey qualification playoff South Korea vs Finland live stream

The host country tries to keep its hopes alive in the men’s Olympic ice hockey tournament. South Korea faces Finland in a qualification playoff.
South Korea lost all three of its preliminary round games, allowing 14 goals while scoring just one. Nevertheless, the setup of the men’s Olympic ice hockey tournament allows the hosts one last chance to get instantly into the quarterfinals. That is the beauty of the qualification playoff, where the bottom eight teams out of 12 play an initial elimination game before meeting one of the top four seeds.
Of course, to get through all South Korea has to do is beat Finland. The Scandinavian side finished second in Group C behind Sweden. But their two wins were not enough to get through automatically to the next round. Despite beating Germany 5-2 and Norway 5-1, the Finns were relegated to the qualification playoff after a 3-1 loss to Sweden.
Finland will be the heavy favorite when the two sides meet at Gangneung Hockey Centre on the coast. South Korea, though, will have the advantage of playing on home ice. Will it be enough to take down the best team forced to play in the qualification round?
The Korean side will have its hands full trying to stop the tournament’s leading scorer, Eeli Tolvanen, and the rest of a strong Finnish squad. Hockey fans have an opportunity to wake up and watch puck action with their breakfast only a few more times before the Olympics conclude for another four years, and this will be a prime opportunity to see if the home crowd wills its team on to its first victory of the tournament.
