4. Josh Sweat, DE, Florida State

Why he’s on this list

Sweat was a former No. 1 overall recruit out of high school who, like Carter at Georgia, never quite realized his estimable talent. On the other hand, he possesses ideal size (6-foot-5 and 250 pounds), with long arms and twitch. I referred to him the other day as on the All-Bus team. No one looks better getting off the bus.

There’s a chance none of the edge players in this class test better than Sweat.

What he needs to do

Because he’s an upside play at this point, Sweat needs to impress in Indy. Luckily for him, he’s an outstanding athlete. Put up a 40 time under 4.7 with a good 10-yard split, and show change of direction ability teams so desperately covet in pass rushers with the 3-cone and short shuttle.

If teams are going to bang on an athletic project, then you damn well better show you’re a great athlete. Sweat can help himself get squarely into the Day 2 discussion with such a performance.
