After starring with the Jacksonville Jaguars during their AFC Championship Game run, Aaron Colvin is set to get a nice contract in free agency.

The Jacksonville Jaguars from went from chumps to challengers in 2017, and an overwhelming part of the reason was a dominant defense. While Aaron Colvin isn’t one of the household names on the unit, he remains one of the better young corners in the game, and someone set to cash in.

Colvin is only 26 years old and has four years under his belt. The former third-round pick out of the University of Oklahoma has five sacks in his young career, although he’s still looking for his first interception. Colvin is best-suited in the slot at 193 pounds, playing the ever-evolving role of the nickel corner.

Best fits

1. Washington Redskins

After trading perhaps he best slot corner in football away to Kansas City in the Kendall Fuller deal, the Redskins have a gaping hole at the position. With Josh Norman on the outside, Washington needs to solidify the inside, and Colvin would make a ton of sense.

2. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are quickly rising up the ranks in the NFL, but they need to make a splash in their secondary. San Francisco is ill-equipped to deal with the likes of Jared Goff and Russell Wilson with the current group, and while Colvin isn’t a top corner, he’s a plus.

3. Oakland Raiders

Oakland has a litany of needs on defense, and slot corner is certainly one of them. The Raiders are allowing T.J. Carrie to walk in free agency — and rightfully so — opening up another need. General manager Reggie McKenzie has to shore up the defense if Oakland plans on contending for and AFC West title in 2018, and Colvin fits the bill.
