Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James spent halftime checking in on his March Madness bracket and watched Ohio State play Gonzaga.

The first weekend of March Madness always captivates sports fans nationwide. The upsets, the heroics, the pomp and circumstance of the tournament, the brackets it’s enthralling.

It’s so engrossing, not even NBA athletes in the midst of games can keep their eyes off of the tournament. While the Cleveland Cavaliers were playing the Chicago Bulls on St. Patrick’s Day, LeBron James spent halftime watching Ohio State play Gonzaga in the tournament.

“He was standing in the hallway at United Center for several minutes of halftime, watching Ohio State’s comeback, yelling at the TV,” Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon tweeted.

Of course, the Bulls are tanking and not necessarily interested in putting up much of a fight, so they aren’t in a position to command James’ full attention. The Bulls young core of stars and hopefully next big three — Kris Dunn, Lauri Markkanen, or Zach Lavine — were all out for the game as well.

James is from Ohio and an avid Buckeyes fan. He’s also posted a triple-double during the game.

The Cavs are also playing without head coach Tyronn Lue in the second half due to an illness. The last time the Cavs lost Lue at the half, they had a big lead and lost.

If the Cavs lose to the Bulls it would be a colossal failure for both teams, the Cavs in the hunt for home-court advantage in the playoffs and the Bulls trying to improve their NBA Draft Lottery chances with a loss.
