High Salary C

Andre Drummond, DET at NY ($10,100): No Blake Griffin means Drummond will be alone in the frontcourt once again. Reggie Jackson looking more like himself certainly helps Drummond’s value. He had 61.75 fantasy points against the Wizards on Thursday. He had 44.75 fantasy points against the Knicks on Dec. 22 and needs 47.9 fantasy points to reach value on Saturday. Without Griffin, there’s a good bet he’s over 50 fantasy points in this one. ****

Hassan Whiteside, MIA vs BKN ($7,600): Whiteside returned to the lineup on Thursday against the Bulls, finishing with 27.75 fantasy points in 20 minutes. Lack of playing time is a concern, but it’s a concern for every Heat frontcourt player right now with Whiteside back in the fold. He had 50.25 fantasy points against the Nets on Jan. 19. The Nets are 28th against centers in their last 15 games. Seeing as he’s the most likely guy to get minutes at center, he’s the best option on the Heat. But limited minutes could hurt his value. **

James Johnson, MIA vs BKN ($7,200): Kelly Olynyk is another option here, but with Whiteside back, Olynyk’s playing time is a bit up in the air. Johnson, on the other hand, will get guaranteed playing time as the power forward next to Whiteside. He was down to 18 fantasy points against the Bulls and his salary has actually gone up to where he needs 30.4 fantasy points to reach value on Saturday. There are just too many uncertainties in the Miami frontcourt right now, but the matchup is too tantalizing not to take advantage of. Johnson’s advantage is that he’s the cheapest option. ***
