Borussia Dortmund face Stuttgart at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday, April 8. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
After suffering a humiliating defeat last weekend against Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund host Stuttgart at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund are third in the Bundesliga, three points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt in the race for Champions League spots. Stuttgart are eighth in the Bundesliga, with 38 points.
Dortmund’s 6-0 loss to Bayern was the first Bundesliga loss under Peter Stoger. Against Bayern, Dortmund struggled to generate any offensive chances but were even worse defensively. Dortmund struggled to play out from the back, repeatedly giving the ball away. Stoger will have to get a much better performance out of his team if he wants to keep Dortmund in a Champions League spot. Marco Reus is dealing with a groin injury and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Michy Batshuayi has scored six Bundesliga goals in his first eight games since joining the club on loan from Chelsea. The Belgium international will be the focal point of Dortmund’s attack.
Stuttgart’s decision to fire Hannes Wolf and replace him with Tayfun Korkut was criticized because of Korkut’s lack of success in the Bundesliga. However, Korkut has proved the doubters wrong, going unbeaten in his first eight games as manager. After picking up 18 points, Stuttgart moved from 14th to eight in the table. Mario Gomez has seen his season take off since Korkut took over. After scoring only one goal in his first 15 games, Gomez has scored six goals in his last eight games. Gomez will have to keep scoring goals if he wants to make Germany’s World Cup roster this summer.
The Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart will be broadcast on FS1. Live streaming is available on Fox Sports Go, which you can access with your cable or satellite subscription, either online or through their app.
