FanDuel Lineup and picks for Sunday, April 15th
Shortstop, High End Spend
Francisco Lindor, $4,600
.200/.333/.200 with 0 HR in 5 at-bats
This seems like a pretty high price tag considering Lindor has been pretty hit or miss so far. His last three games have been great, but the three games before that were all zeroes. Lindor has really good numbers against lefty pitching in his career with a .303 average, .892 OPS, and a .354 wOBA. Jaime Garcia has been pretty decent so far in 2018 and even though you’re paying full fare, Lindor could pay off handsomely today. He’s swinging a hot bat, and is on the right side of his splits. There’s definitely worse plays on the board today.
Also Consider – Zack Cozart, $3,900
Mid-Range
Dansby Swanson, $3,600
.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 1 at-bat
One of the reasons the Braves offense has been so good to this point is the young shortstop is smoking balls left and right. In fairness, his hard hit rate is a little lower than one would think but this is a case where the stats that count for fantasy are better than the advanced metrics. As we talked about with Albies, Chatwood is nothing special and he walks so many players. Swanson was a highly rated prospect for a reason and this is perhaps the start of his bat catching up to the major leagues. He’s hitting righties for a batting average over .350 so far and a wOBA over .400.
Also Consider – Scott Kingery, $3,500
Value
Tzu-Wei Lin, $2,200
N/A
Much like Christian Vazquez, this is a total punt play in a good offense. Lin has virtually no track record to speak of but the Red Sox are dealing with injuries in the middle infield and Lin has reached base six times in 10 plate appearances. With due respect to how Dylan Bundy has been pitching, Boston is playin at another level right now.
