St. Louis Cardinals: Trade Kolten Wong to the Texas Rangers

For a time, Kolten Wong was one of the more exciting players on this St. Louis Cardinals roster. However, he has gotten off to a tough start to the 2018 season, and it may be time for the team to think about moving him out of town.

Wong is hitting well below the Mendoza Line to start the season, and has driven in only two runs through his first 17 games. One team he could be a nice fit for, for at least a little while, is the Texas Rangers, who star second baseman is currently on the disabled list.

In Texas, Wong would still be in a playoff race, as the Rangers should be around for most of the summer in the AL West. They have a solid second baseman in Rougned Odor, but Wong could serve as some quality help in the infield off the bench once Odor returns.

Odor has yet to start running as he is battling back from a strained hamstring back in early April. The Rangers need someone to come in and be their everyday second baseman until he returns, and a fresh start could help Wong.

Remember, Wong hit .285 last season for the Cardinals, but just has not looked right at the plate thus far in 2018.
