Baltimore Orioles: Trade Manny Machado to the Atlanta Braves

It is no secret that Manny Machado will likely not be back with the Baltimore Orioles next season, and he is slated to hit free agency this winter. If the Orioles do not  get something for him in a trade this season, they will  get nothing for him in free agency, so they may want to make a move.

The team with the best farm system in baseball is the Atlanta Braves, which could be a landing spot for Machado. If the Orioles decide to make this move,  the Braves could send over a wealth of prospects, and Machado may actually want to stay in Atlanta.

The Braves have been better than advertised this season, and the organization could make the pitch to Machado that it could be a long-term solution for his career. They have a rich history of playing great baseball, and have started off the year in better shape than people might have expected.

Ronald Acuna Jr. would likely be off limits, but everybody else could be fair game, if the Braves can get Machado to agree to a long-term deal after the trade. Atlanta does have a solid shortstop in Dansby Swanson, and Machado has said that he would like to be a permanent shortstop for the rest of his career.

That would take some maneuvering, but when it comes to Machado, he has shown he can be a team player in the past.
