Texas Rangers: Trade for C.J. Cron

The Texas Rangers need help this season, as they have won only seven of their first 22 games. The problem is that the lineup just has not been producing, and injuries are limiting them to what they can do with the stick.

One area of need is at first base, where they could stand to upgrade for a full-time player. One player who could do very well in this lineup is C.J. Cron, who currently is playing sparingly for the Tampa Bay Rays.

When Cron gets playing time, he can hit some home runs, and has hit more than 15 in each of his last three seasons. He has accomplished that despite not being a full-time player, which is a role he could take on in Texas.

The AL West is a tough division, and the Rangers have dug themselves a nice hole to start the campaign. If they can get some bats in the lineup, and get a healthy Rougned Odor back, they should be able to start to string some wins together.

Cron is a nice player, and has played most of his career in the AL West, so he makes a lot of sense going to the Rangers.
