The Pittsburgh Penguins vanquished the rival Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, and one local Pittsburgh funeral home has taken the trolling to the next level.

Let’s just be clear about one thing: Pittsburgh Penguins fans have been spoiled these past few seasons. Not only has the team won the Stanley Cup the past two seasons, they’ve been treated to some great hockey on a nightly basis. They get to watch Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin do their thing, which is fantastic. Perhaps one thing that ranks just under winning the Stanley Cup is enjoying the Pens sending the Philadelphia Flyers packing right out of the playoffs.

After the decisive Game 6 victory on Sunday, a local Pittsburgh funeral home took the opportunity to twist the knife just a bit further with customized prayer card to send their condolences to Flyers fans. This is a excellent troll from a local business, and even though it’s not a restaurant or something like that, it still gets their name out there.

This will likely make some Philly fans even more salty than they already are, since they got bent out of shape over a non-penalty call that helped decide Game 6. There’s really no love lost between the two teams, and apparently the workers at the Patrick Lanigan Funeral Home don’t really enjoy the Flyers either. The best part of this might be this idea wasn’t something that was spur of the moment. The funeral home had to have this card ready to roll out once the series was over. It looks like something that would legitimately be at a funeral. It’s creative and fun all at the same time.

The Penguins will continue their quest for the Cup against another division rival when they take on the Washington Capitals in the next round. As for Flyers fans, they’ll just have to wait into next season. Maybe the prayer card can help them through this difficult time.
