2. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are currently the favorites to land George. And for good reason. Dating back to last offseason, George has expressed his desire to play in Los Angeles. He’s from Los Angeles, he could play in front of his family and friends every night, and he could do more Gatorade commercials where he hits the game-winning shot.

Los Angeles has an abundance of young talent. Lonzo Ball is already the greatest player of all-time according to his father. Kyle Kuzma was their best rookie last season. Brandon Ingram showed improvement in his second season. And they are 100 percent getting LeBron James as well.

Joining the Lakers wouldn’t mean immediate competitiveness for George, especially if he’s not teaming up with LeBron. The Lakers finished 11th in the West, and while they showed promise, every other team on this list was a playoff team. The addition of George doesn’t immediately vault them into the playoffs, especially given how competitive the West is.

George would be treated like a king in Los Angeles. Unless the actual King comes along with him. Then he’d be treated like a prince. Maybe a rank lower than a prince because Lonzo is still around. My point is, Los Angeles would love to have George because he’d be the first free agent to actually join them. Fans have spent a lot of money on Future Lakers jerseys, only to see their threads collect dust. Thousands of George No. 13 jersey have already been sold. Will it hang in the Future Lakers Hall of Fame?

Should he sign, it would shift the attention back on the Lakers after years of being treated like the red-headed stepchild. Even the Clippers felt bad for the Lakers not getting enough attention. The Clippers had the Blake Griffin trade drama and the tunnel fight. The Lakers had….Isaiah Thomas?

Poor Lakers fans.
