2. Cameron Wake will request a trade

Wake has spent every waking moment of his NFL career in a Dolphins uniform. After making the team as an undrafted free agent back in 2009, he’s built an excellent career in Miami. Unfortunately, that hasn’t given him as much postseason success as a player would like.

That’s why Wake will ask for, but not demand a trade this season. At 36 years of age he understands he’s getting close to the end of the line. His age, combined with the reality that he’s in his last year of his deal with the team, make him an excellent trade target for a potential Super Bowl contender.

As much as Dolphins fans would like to believe that moniker describes their beloved team, it does not. Miami will struggle to stay in playoff contention this season. Wake deserves better than that as his career enters its twilight.

Just because Wake asks for a trade doesn’t mean the team is required to give it to him. Although they should. He’s done everything in his power to lift the franchise up. It’s only right they will give him a legitimate chance to win a Super Bowl ring before he hangs his cleats up for good.
