The Montreal Canadiens have had a tough offseason, and the recent news about Shea Weber’s injury has sent fans to their breaking point.

The P.K. Subban trade is the gift that keeps on giving.

Unless you’re a Montreal Canadiens fan.

On Thursday, the Canadiens announced on Twitter that Shea Weber is out for “an extended period of time” following knee surgery.

The article reveals he’ll be gone for five to six months. Saved you a click.

Of course, no Montreal bad news is complete without fans piling on.

Sure, Subban might be wearing a women’s bathing suit, but dude was living his best life on the Fourth of July. He was not undergoing knee surgery that will keep him off the ice until 2019.

Since the trade, Subban has played 148 games for Nashville, scoring 99 points. Weber has produced 58 points in 104 games. Subban has appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals. Weber has appeared in the first round.

Don’t worry Carey. Mikhail Serga….oh wait.

Ah, a voice of reason. Good thing the Canadiens aren’t paying a guy whose best days behind are behind him $7.8 million for another eight season.

I’m not sure if this fan believes Montreal can swing a deal for Erik Karlsson (they can’t) or if he’s waiting for the Senators to trade their best player and get a minimal return. Either way, I respect the optimism or pettiness.

Boom. Two franchises buried with one tweet. This is how it’s done, folks.

Of course, the Weber news was just the latest straw on the camel’s back. Earlier in the week, the Canadiens asked fans to tweet questions to Bergevin that he would answer. As you can imagine, that also went…poorly.

Montreal fans, if you’re looking for some good news on this dark day. I’m happy to inform you that Max Pacioretty is still on the team. For now.
