What we learned, what we took away and what the future holds for the superstars of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live following Sunday night’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event.

For the 10th consecutive year, WWE put on their Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday night, even if only one match on the main card was officially considered an Extreme Rules match. But there was still plenty to talk about with the Steel Cage Match and the Iron Man Match and the phenomenal WWE Championship bout between AJ Styles and Rusev.

There were a couple of decent bouts on the kickoff show as Cien Almas defeated Sin Cara and Sanity took out The New Day in a Tables Match and things got started on the main show with the RAW Tag Team Championship Match featuring The Deleters of Worlds taking on The B-Team.

So let’s jump into the action on the main card for the 2018 edition of WWE Extreme Rules.

RAW Tag Team Championship Match

“Woken: Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt (c) vs. The B-Team

What we learned: Wow. We learned here that The B-Team is actually here to stay. In quite the shocking upset to open the show, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel won the RAW Tag Team Championship from Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt and even got the interview treatment afterward.

I’ll admit that I got the prediction wrong on the winner but what I did get right is that this could be fun enough if done correctly and this match was just that. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was 10 minutes of classic tag team wrestling.

Dallas and Axel spent a good deal of time keeping Matt Hardy isolated on their side of the ring, which unfortunately meant that we didn’t get near enough time with Bray and Bo getting it on. They teased it for a second at the start of the match before Bo made a quick tag but it finally happened after the hot tag and we got a glimpse of the two real-life brothers battling it out with Bray getting the better of things.

But in the end, it was Bo Dallas who had the last laugh as he pinned Matt Hardy to get the 1-2-3. Decent start to the night.

What’s next: With the automatic rematch clause assumingly in place, we haven’t seen the last of this matchup. The program has been entertaining and I wouldn’t mind a few more weeks of it heading into SummerSlam.
