Fantasy Football 2018: 7 rookie wide receivers you must target
By Jon Dove
6. Keke Coutee, Houston Texans
There are many members of the Houston Texans whose fantasy value is tied to the health of quarterback Deshaun Watson. If he is unable to get to full speed by the start of the year the rest of the roster takes a hit.
This is especially true for someone like rookie Keke Coutee. In fact, Watson’s participation during training camp will also play a role for the rookie.
Coutee will need time to develop a rhythm with Watson in order to really produce. However, all signs so far point to Watson being at full health. This will be someone all fantasy owners want to monitor.
As for Coutee, he is battling for the slot receiver job with Braxton Miller and Bruce Ellington. Miller makes the most sense to get the early reps, but his injury history is a major concern.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle has heaped praise on Coutee and talks about how others on the roster are impressed by the rookie. It’s typically a good sign when a player’s teammates are willing to go on the record about their play.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Coutee leave training camp as the starting slot receiver. He would then be competing with Will Fuller for down-field targets.
Something that works in favor for both Coutee and Fuller is the fact the Texans don’t have any major pass-catching threats at tight end.
