Los Angeles Laker forward LeBron James showed he was psyched for kickball by rapping along to Drake’s verse on Travis Scott’s standout cut from ASTROWORLD, “Sicko Mode.”

On Thursday, August 23, LeBron James participated in a kickball game at Ronaldo Field of the Nike World Headquarters. James, who has championships, MVP’s and a clear status as one of the greatest players to play in the NBA, appeared to be relaxed at the game without the expectations to deliver a title burdening him.

How relaxed? He rapped and danced to Drake’s verse on Travis Scott’s hit track, “Sicko Mode.”

James rapping the lyrics to Drake’s verse on “Sicko Mode” is great for a few reasons. First, James has long been known as a fan of Drake’s music. Second, Drake’s verse alluded to his own allegiance to Nike:

"Jesus Christ, (yeah) checks over stripes (yeah)That’s what I like, (yeah) that’s what we like (yeah)"

James and Drake are both aligned with Nike, so it was only fitting for LeBron to rap along to Drake’s verse. Lastly, Scott’s “Sicko Mode” alludes to having an unreal work ethic. Drake and Scott proved that sentiment by producing highest first-week debuts for their respective albums, Scorpion, and ASTROWORLD this year. Both artists have put in major work to rise to the top of pop music and this song serves as a testament to their grind.

Next. Is this the year Myles Turner takes the leap to stardom?. dark

James has been in “Sicko Mode” his entire career, and it looks like he has no signs of slowing down. At the age of 33, James has built his career with legendary performances on the NBA hardwood, and a diligent work ethic off it. James former teammate, Channing Frye alluded that James new teammates may have a hard time adjusting to their newest superstar and centerpiece. If that rings true, the rest of the Lakers and coaching staff may have to get in their own “Sicko Mode” to rise up to James expectations.
