Jarvis Landry finishes as a top-5 fantasy wide receiver in Week 4

Everyone in Cleveland is abuzz about Baker Mayfield being named the starting quarterback. However, those fantasy football owners who have Jarvis Landry on their roster should also get excited.

Mayfield and Landry quickly established a connection when the young quarterback took over for the injured Tyrod Taylor.

This is a perfect match with Landry running precise routes and Mayfield know for his accuracy. Mayfield will get Landry the ball in stride allowing him to maximize his yards after the catch. We may even see some more big plays from Landry with Mayfield more willing to attack deep.

The Browns take on the Oakland Raiders this weekend. Oakland has a poor secondary and lack overall defensive talent. This is a team that really struggles to create pressure on the quarterback which will give Mayfield plenty of time to find an open Landry.

With Mayfield on the field, Landry’s value in standard scoring leagues should rise a little. His value in PPR leagues should also get a small bump. However, Landry has long been one of the better PPR receivers in fantasy.

Cleveland’s decision to move on from Josh Gordon also plays a role in Landry’s fantasy potential. The rest of the Browns receiving corps is young and a little inconsistent. Mayfield will appreciate the veteran presence provided by Landry.
