Porto face Galatasaray at Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Galatasaray enter the second Champions League game on top of Group D following their 3-0 win against Lokomotiv Moscow in Istanbul. The reigning Turkish champions go to Portugal for their second group stage game to play Porto. The defending Portuguese champions went to Germany for their first game and drew with Schalke 1-1.
Porto are second in the Portuguese league after winning five of their first six games. The Dragons could have beaten Schalke in their opening Champions League game had they converted their first penalty. Alex Telles had his first-half penalty saved by Ralf Fahrmann but Otavio was able to score his second-half penalty. Otavio has had a strong season, creating chances for Vincent Aboubakar, who leads the club with four goals this season.
Galatasaray are first in the Turkish Super Lig, winning five of their first seven games. However, the Lions are a far different team at home than they are on the road. Galatasaray have won all five of their league and Champions League games, outscoring their opponents 15-1. Away from home, the Lions have lost two of their three games, scoring three games and allowing eight goals. If Galatasaray are going to steal a point from Porto, they will try to get the ball into Eren Derdiyok, who leads the club with five goals in all competitions.
Fatih Terim will have to make a change to his starting XI against Porto. Badou Ndiaye was sent off after picking up two yellow cards against Lokomotiv Moscow. Ndiaye has been a fixture in the Galatasaray midfield since rejoining the club on loan from Stoke.
