Option 3: Seattle Seahawks RB Mike Davis

If you want to wait until before the game starts to move Lamar Miller out of your lineup, then Coutee and Blue are the best bets, followed by Cowboys tight end Geoff Swaim. But if you’d prefer to play it safe (or read Sunday morning injury updates from NFL insiders that indicate Miller won’t play), then consider replacing Miller with a running back from one of the earlier games.

Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers is the ideal option, but I realize that he probably isn’t available now that the secret seems to be out. If Jones has been signed by a savvy fantasy owner in one of your leagues, then Seattle Seahawks running back Mike Davis is an option.

Davis blew up for over 100 rushing yards against a soft Arizona Cardinals defense last week, making it a career performance for the former touted back out of South Carolina. After struggling in San Francisco, Davis is hoping to make his mark with the Seahawks, and since Chris Carson isn’t quite at 100%, he could eat into Carson’s carries in Week 5.

The Los Angeles Rams are much better at defending the pass than they are the run, so the Seahawks could be forced to use Carson and Davis more. This looks like a brutal matchup for quarterback Russell Wilson, unless if the Seahawks defense fails to contain Jared Goff and his weapons.

Davis has an intriguing matchup, and the Seahawks game is one of the late afternoon contests. That gives fantasy owners a few extra hours to hear more about Miller’s status before coming to a decision, so that helps make Davis a slightly more attractive option at a position where replacements are difficult to find.
