High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,250

Anthony Davis (at HOU – $11,100): Needs 49 fantasy points. The Rockets did as good of a job one can do on Davis last season. But now they have Carmelo Anthony as a power forward instead of Mbah a Moutue or Ariza. That’s a recipe for disaster against a player like Davis. He’s going to have a big scoring and rebounding game. And while the Rockets will make life tough on him by using PJ Tucker, I doubt it’ll be enough. I still like Giannis more given the matchup, but Davis nearly broke DFS last season with some of his performances. It’s never a bad move to take him. Diagnosis: He’s Anthony Davis. He’s really good.

LaMarcus Aldridge (vs MIN – $7,300): Needs 32.2 fantasy points. Aldridge was quietly good as a DFS player last season, hitting value in 70 percent of games. He’ll have it a little tougher this season with DeMar DeRozan in the lineup, but this is still Aldridge’s team on paper. And this is a great matchup for him because who knows what is going on with the Timberwolves. The Spurs can abuse KAT in the pick-and-roll and I fully expect them to do so. Diagnosis: Maybe you stay away if you think DeRozan cuts into his value too much. But this is a very fair price for a guy who averaged 40 fantasy points a game last year.

Tobias Harris (vs DEN – $7,000): Needs 31.1 fantasy points. Harris was inconsistent once traded to the Clippers, but the loss of DeAndre Jordan is going to put more responsibility on him in the post. The Clippers may even go super small with Harris at the five, a strategy that could work given the opponent on Wednesday. He’s a reliable scoring who chips in with assists and rebounds. Diagnosis: If I haven’t said it enough, this should be a shootout. Harris is one of the Clippers better weapons of choice.

Quick Hits

Nikola Mirotic ($6,300): Was great alongside Davis last year and should be better with Julius Randle in town.
