The Brewers defeated the Dodgers 7-2 in Game 6, and now a decisive Game 7 will be played on Saturday night.

There’s nothing better than a Game 7 in October, am I right?

The 2018 Major League Baseball postseason has almost reached its boiling point. The start of the World Series is only a couple of days away, but before it can officially start, we have to decide a National League champion.

To do that, the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles must play in a Game 7, and the Boston Red Sox will await the winner. This is what October is all about.

It would’ve been a disappointment if there wasn’t a single Game 7 in this entire postseason. Sure, there two different Game 163s (won by the Brewers and the Dodgers, coincidentally) and there were the two wild card games. Those basically have the same effect as a Game 7, as it’s a winner-take-all game.

But there’s nothing in sports — regardless of the sport for that matter — that can truly compare to an actual Game 7. The teams have been evenly matched to that point, and then only one final game can truly determine which team was the better team during that particular series. One team will get to advance to the World Series, and the other team’s season will end in heartbreak.

That is the drama that comes with a Game 7, and it’s unmatchable.

After losing two of three games at Dodger Stadium to fall behind 3-2 in the National League Championship Series, the Brewers came back with a statement 7-2 win at Miller Park in Game 6 to force a decisive Game 7. It will be a rematch of Game 3 between starting pitchers Walker Buehler for Los Angeles and Jhoulys Chacin for Milwaukee.

October would’ve been incomplete if we didn’t get at least one Game 7. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about that happening this year. Tune into FS1 on Saturday night to see which team will claim the National League pennant and meet the American League champion Red Sox in the World Series.
