Tarik Cohen, Chicago Bears

Stats: 184 rushing yards, 1 touchdown, 328 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

What a nifty flex option Tarik Cohen has become over the past two seasons. If you don’t have Cohen you hate to see him lined up against you. If you’re lucky enough to have him, you are enjoying this man’s big-play ability and usage in 2018. We all saw this coming, Cohen taking snaps and production away from Jordan Howard. Cohen is the back to play in this system.

Cohen can be a thorn in your side or your best friend on Sundays. He has certainly supplanted himself in this offense under Matt Nagy. Who knows what kind of team the Chicago Bears would be without him. He has been the perfect change of pace back and certainly has outplayed Jordan Howard more than once in fantasy. Cohen is probably the better option moving forward. He fits Nagy’s offensive play style more than Howard.

This little guy is a gadget player you definitely want to target if you don’t already have him rostered. The NFL has absolutely seen these types of players excel in today’s league. The likes of Alvin Kamara, Tyreek Hill and now Cohen have taken over the NFL. Very rarely do we see a three down back these days. The fast paced offenses have taken over. Game flow doesn’t usually dictate his production like it would a big bruising runner.

Cohen has another potentially fantastic matchup in Week 8 against the New York Jets. The similar style of Marlon Mack rushed to 89 yards in Week 6. The small, fast type of backs who can also do damage in the passing game have been the Jets worst nightmare this season. Week 8 should be no different. Cohen has proven to be a very reliable flex option with a lot of upside and high volume each week.

Prediction: 50 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
