Fantasy Football, Week 8: High value plays for DraftKings
By Dylan Broady
Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts, $4,900
Stats: 357 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns
Eric Ebron has filled a huge hole for the Indianapolis Colts offense in 2018. Ebron is currently leading the Colts in receiving yards, receptions and touchdowns. With the absence of Jack Doyle, Ebron has stepped up in a huge way for his new team. The Colts have seen their fair share of injuries this season. T.Y. Hilton sat for a couple games and Ryan Grant is dealing with a tweaked hamstring giving Ebron ample opportunities through eight games.
Andrew Luck has recognized what a big, reliable target Ebron can be, helping resurrect his career in 2018. Ebron has a great matchup against the Oakland Raiders in Week 8 who currently are 26th-ranked in the NFL defensively. We have seen what Ebron can do when given the opportunity. He has taken over games and averages a whopping eight targets a game, which is good for third best among tight ends this season.
Coming into Week 8 he still leads all tight ends with six touchdown receptions. He is only outside the top five in receiving yards coming in at 6th-ranked. If you want a flex player with a high floor, Ebron is the player you should be targeting. Typically we wouldn’t advise playing two tight ends, but with the amount of production and volume Ebron has managed through eight games, this could potentially become a great move.
As we always look for great stacking options in our lineups, sometimes there’s a better choice. Which is why we don’t have a great stacking partner for our quarterback this week Deshaun Watson. Ebron is clearly the best bang for your buck this week as your flex in all your lineups on DraftKings. By utilizing him you give yourself a great chance at separating your team from everyone else’s. Don’t second guess this decision. You need Ebron in your lineups this week.
Prediction: 70 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
