Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings

Stats: 925 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns

Adam Thielen has been such a bright spot for not only the NFL but the Minnesota Vikings. He leads the league in receiving yards, receptions and targets going into a Week 9 tilt against the Detroit Lions and their 19th-ranked defense. The Lions although rank as the seventh best defense against the pass, have allowed 367 yards per game to opposing offenses.

Thielen has become matchup proof this season. In fantasy football all of us analysts talk about how deep the wide receiver position is. Thielen is a perfect example of that this season. Most people more than likely drafted him in the third round or later in this season’s drafts. Top tier running backs still remain the most rare commodity in fantasy football despite the high flying offenses.

Last week against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football  Thielen managed his eighth consecutive 100 yard receiving game. Add in his six touchdown catches and his league-leading numbers and you have found yourself a mid-round gem this year. Thielen did have a costly fumble but his numbers speak for themselves. Thielen hauled in seven balls for 103 yards and a touchdown.

Week 9 don’t be scared away by the Lions’ Darius Slay. The Vikings have way too many receiving options to handle for the Detroit defense to shut down. Thielen will find wiggle room and once again help your fantasy football teams to big wins this weekend. His high volume of 96 targets which is league leading puts him in elite category with Julio Jones, Antonio Brown and Michael Thomas.

Prediction: 10 receptions, 110 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
