Fantasy Football, Week 9: High value plays for DraftKings
By Dylan Broady
Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins, $5,300 (FLEX ALERT)
Stats: 340 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns, 197 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
This season in a committee role with future Hall of Famer Frank Gore, Kenyan Drake has been highly productive. He has proven to be a huge asset in both the running and passing game this season. We love his price this week in a matchup against the rival New York Jets’ 24th-ranked defense. Drake will continue his hot streak from last weeks blowout loss to the Houston Texans.
Against Houston’s ninth-ranked defense Drake managed to rush for 58 yards and a touchdown, while adding 37 receiving yards and another score. Going forward look for Drake to be more heavily involved despite his pass blocking skills. Drake is the younger, more versatile back in this committee. If the Dolphins are smart they will look to their Week 8 loss as a positive for their young talented back.
Drake has what we call a high floor in fantasy football. His usage remains solid no matter the opponent or signal caller. We like players we can depend on, especially on DraftKings. Where high volume and ample opportunity is key to having success against the rest of the field. Drake will have a great Week 9 fantasy production output. The Jets defense hasn’t been reliable whatsoever this season.
Drake is a great play this week wherever you decide to place him in your lineups. His price and matchup are both favorable. The Jets defense has allowed 114 rushing yards per game this season. With Miami having a one-two punch in the backfield, it should equal success this weekend. Drake has been a bright spot on a team that has once again lost Ryan Tannehill to injury. He will be relied upon to balance the offense out against the Jets.
Prediction: 50 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, 2 total touchdowns
