Defense: New York Jets

@ Miami Dolphins, Sunday 1:00pm

FanDuel Cost: $3,700

It was a difficult task finding a strong defensive option for this week’s fanduel lineup. I didn’t want to spend $5,400 on a top defense like the Chicago Bears. So, I went with a wildcard play and really focused on the matchups.

The Miami Dolphins offensive attack has been one of the worst in the entire league. They have had a few breakout performances, but overall they are averaging only 21.8 points per game. That number was inflated by their surprise outburst against the Chicago Bears.

This week the Dolphins face a New York Jets defense that has played some solid ball. The one thing that has me optimistic about their fantasy output this week is how much blitzing Todd Bowles has been doing in recent weeks.

Combing the aggressive play calling of Bowles with the high turnover rate of Brock Osweiler creates high fantasy upside.

Backup Option: Atlanta Falcons

@ Washington Redskins, Sunday 1:00

FanDuel Cost: $3,600

Atlanta’s defense has been terrible this year thanks to a string of injuries. However, the Washington Redskins offense isn’t overly explosive and can be contained. Playing Atlanta in your fanduel lineup won’t push you over the edge, but it will save you some salary.
