Fantasy Football 2018: Top 10 waiver wire Week 13 pickups
Philadelphia Eagles RB Josh Adams
After shining for several weeks in a row, Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff finally decided to give Josh Adams the reigns to the team’s rushing attack. Adams promptly rewarded them with a huge Week 12 performance in a narrow win over the rival New York Giants, carrying the rock 22 times for 84 yards with his second touchdown in back-to-back games (and a two-point conversion thrown in for good measure).
Going forward, Adams will remain the Eagles feature back, and he’s been the brightest spot on the Eagles roster over the past few weeks. After producing gaudy yards per carry averages for three straight games, Adams showed a different side to his game as a feature back, shouldering the full workload in a must-win game against the Giants.
With 5.2 yards per carry, Adams has been the most efficient member of the Eagles backfield, and while he will lose passing snaps to Corey Clement, who looked quite good in the passing game against New York, he could consistently deliver 15-20 carries per game over the course of the next few weeks.
Adams gets Washington in Week 13, and that will be another NFC East test for the 22-year-old undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. Philadelphia looked like a much better team when they started giving Adams the rock in Week 12, and that trend could continue in Week 13.
