Frank Gore, Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Kenyan Drake is the star of the show in the Miami Dolphins backfield as a playmaker who has been of huge value to fantasy owners in spots, including last week when he scored two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts as one of fantasy’s highest-scoring running backs in Week 12.

But while Drake offers more value in terms of touchdown scoring and in PPR leagues, Frank Gore has been the better pure rusher this season. One of the most prolific rushers in NFL history, Gore was once the centerpiece of the San Francisco 49ers, and The Inconvenient Truth is busy churning out 4.5 yards per carry as a 35-year-old star in the Dolphins backfield.

In Gore and Drake, the Dolphins have one of the NFL’s best running back duos, which is a dang good thing, given that their quarterback play has been abysmal.

Gore gets a Buffalo Bills defense in Week 13 that allows more than a touchdown per game to opposing rushing attacks, meaning that Gore may finally get his first rushing touchdown of the season. It’s hard to believe that he’s yet to score despite averaging nearly 55 rushing yards per game, including 100+ and 90-yard days.

Last week, Gore had 67 yards on 14 carries against the Indianapolis Colts, and that will essentially be the standard he sets from here on out. Gore has been a better back than Drake this year, and it will be interesting to see if he finally gets rewarded for his efforts as a touchdown-scorer in Week 13.
