High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

James Harden (at MEM – $11,100): Needs 50.4 fantasy points. Harden has a monster 86.5 fantasy point effort against the Lakers on Dec. 13. Harden is typically reliable because Houston’s system allows him to get numbers on top of numbers. But this is Memphis. Their defense is elite and they’ll throw different things at Harden to make him comfortable. They are on a back-to-back, which gives me some confidence in Harden. And he’s still James Harden, but the matchup in undeniably tough on Saturday. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but a tough matchup.

DeMar DeRozan (vs CHI – $8,600): Needs 39.2 fantasy points. DeRozan has been down in his last two games, but it’s only because the Spurs have been blowing out opponents. And now they get the Bulls. Another blowout could be in the cards here, which is why I’m not super high on DeRozan. If this game is competitive, he’s a great option due to his role and ceiling. I just don’t see it being competitive. Diagnosis: Probably a blowout, but he’ll get solid numbers in limited minutes.

Andrew Wiggins (at PHO – $6,400): Needs 29.2 fantasy points. Wiggins has been solid enough during this recent run. He’s shown a high ceiling, but at the very least he’s getting you value. The Suns are a great matchup because they are the Suns. Don’t pay too much attention to their wins over the Mavericks. They just have their number for some reason. Wiggins will get his scoring numbers without an issue in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling. Possibly a blowout, which will limit him.
