DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 17, 2018
High Value SF
Players costing $6,250 or under
Buddy Hield (at MIN – $6,200): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. Hield continues to shoot the ball extremely well. The Kings are on a back-to-back, but the Timberwolves have been inconsistent for a few weeks now and the Kings always seem to play with some very good energy. Hield had 31 fantasy points against them on Dec. 12. He should have similar success on Monday. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Robert Covington (vs SAC – $5,200): Needs 24 fantasy points. Covington has really bottomed out for the last week. He’s dealing with a knee issue that has limited him and he’s not getting the minutes he typically gets. So why do I love him on Monday? Because I think the minutes will be there and the matchup is very good as the Kings are on a back-to-back. I still like Covington’s game overall and he’s going to be a steal at this salary. Diagnosis: Low-cost and high ceiling. He’s ready for a big breakout game.
Jae Crowder (at HOU – $4,400): Needs 20.3 fantasy points. Crowder’s minutes have been down, which is concerning. But this is his matchup. The Jazz can’t play Favors and Gobert together against the Rockets, which means more minutes for Crowder. He’s averaging 24.4 fantasy points in two games against the Rockets this season. Solid enough numbers given his salary. And the minutes are always there. Diagnosis: Reliable, gets the minutes, good ceiling.
