DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 17, 2018
High Salary PF
Players costing over $6,250
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at DET – $11,300): Needs 52.1 fantasy points. Giannis was up to 77 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Dec. 14. It’s never a bad time to take Giannis, but I will worn you that this is typically not his matchup. In his last five games against the Pistons, he’s averaging 38 fantasy points. Some of that has been due to blowouts, but his FPPM average is 1.14 against Detroit. Just something to keep in mind. But he’s Giannis. And it’s tough to contain him for long. Diagnosis: Not typically his matchup, but it’s Giannis.
Blake Griffin (vs MIL – $9,000): Needs 42.3 fantasy points. Griffin has been steady in recent contests. He hasn’t shown the high ceiling he flashed early in the season, but the minutes and opportunities are still there. He had 46.25 fantasy points in 30 minutes against the Bucks on Dec. 5. If nothing else, he’s a reliable option. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling. Matchup is tough.
Lauri Markkanen (at CHI – $6,500): Needs 30.1 fantasy points. Markkanen had 41.75 fantasy points against the Spurs on Dec. 15. And the last time he saw the Thunder, he had 44.75 fantasy points. I would like to think that the Thunder will do a better job on him on Monday, but I love Markkanen’s overall game. The Bulls rotations have been all over the place, but Markkanen should get the minutes and the opportunities. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and proven matchup.
