What we learned, what we took away and what the future holds for the superstars of WWE following Sunday night’s TLC pay-per-view event.

The final WWE pay-per-view of the year hit the WWE Network on Sunday night as the annual Tables, Ladders & Chairs event, better known as TLC, invaded San Jose with a dozen matches.

The first two matches took place on the kickoff show as Buddy Murphy retained his WWE Cruiserweight Championship in yet another solid match with Cedric Alexander, a match that certainly deserved better than the preshow. In a bit of a disappointing bout, Elias won the battle with Bobby Lashley as he got the win in their Ladder Match but lost the war when the guitar he obtained was used on his back. So we’re likely in for a little more of these two getting after one another.

Mixed Match Challenge Finals

R-Truth & Carmella vs. Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox

What we learned: Well, we learned here that next month in Phoenix, R-Truth and Carmella will be the number 30 entrants in their respective Royal Rumble matches. Carmella picked up the victory for her team as she forced Alicia Fox to tap out after what was an average match, which is about what I expected. But at least the Singh Brothers joined in for a dance break.

What’s next: Outside of the Royal Rumble implications, there’s really nowhere to go from here. I do hope that R-Truth and Carmella continue to interact as this tournament comes to a close. I think both of them have benefited greatly from being around one another and they certainly bring some entertainment value to SmackDown Live. And that trip to WWE Headquarters in Stamford had better be televised.
