High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,250

Giannis Antetokounmpo (vs NY – $11,100): Needs 51.5 fantasy points. Giannis looked more like himself on Christmas and finished with 64.5 fantasy points. You can never expect him to be held to nine points, so he’s always a reliable option. Points and rebounds won’t be an issue for him on Thursday because he gets the Knicks again. The only concern is a blowout, but maybe the Knicks put up a fight long enough to make Giannis worth your while. Diagnosis: Reliable, but the ceiling is limited due to the blowout factor.

Kevin Durant (vs POR – $9,300): Needs 43.1 fantasy points. Despite the Warriors having a rough game against the Lakers, Durant still finished with 43.25 fantasy points. You know what you’re getting with Durant. He’s a reliable option with a high ceiling if the Warriors are firing on all cylinders. This is a good matchup for them and it’s tough to see them struggling the way they did against the Lakers. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Kuzma (at SAC – $7,400): Needs 34.3 fantasy points. Kuzma didn’t have a great Christmas, coming in with 28.5 fantasy points against the Kings. I don’t know what to make of the Lakers without LeBron. Kuzma has taken positive steps this year, but those shots he’s been taking come a lot easier when you’re playing next to the best player in the league. His ceiling is high and I think he has the ability to step up, but this could be a big letdown game for the Lakers have such a high of beating the Warriors despite losing LeBron halfway through the game. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but there are some red flags around his game.
