Running Backs: Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers- $6,800

For the second consecutive season the Green Bay Packers will not be playing football in January. More shockingly, they will finish below .500 for a second straight season. The last time they did this was 1990 (6-10) and 1991 (4-12).

The Packers defeated the Jets in Week 16, 44-38. Aaron Rodgers had a stellar performance, but Williams had his best game of the year. Williams carried the ball 15 times for 95 yards and one score. He also added six catches for for 61 yards.

Williams played in 94.5% of the team offensive snaps, which is a season high. He finished last week’s game with 24.6 fantasy points, the most amongst running backs in Week 16. His role on the offense increased with the loss of Aaron Jones, who was put on injured reserve.

The second-year back has finished with at least 17 fantasy points in back to back weeks. In addition, he has scored a rushing touchdown in consecutive games and has at least four receptions for 42 yards during that stretch.

This week, expect Williams to get just as much playing time in the season finale against the Detroit Lions. Detroit has allowed running backs to rush for 1,569 yards, sixth most in the league. On average the position group is scoring 21.6 fantasy points per game.

Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks- $6,400

The Seattle Seahawks clinched a wild-card berth after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-31. A big reason why the Seahawks took down the Chiefs was the play of Russell Wilson. But, Carson deserves just as much praise as Wilson.

Carson carried the ball 27 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the game 23.6 fantasy points, just .2 points shy of his season high, which he set the previous week.

Over the last three weeks, Carson has rushed for at least 90 yards and scored at least one touchdown in each contest. In two of those games he compiled at least 116 yards. Carson has rushed for over 100 yards in five games this season. He has scored six touchdowns in the last six games.

Seattle wraps up their season at home against the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona has surrendered 2,011 yards to running backs. They are the only team to give up 2,000 yards to the position group. On average backs are scoring 27.7 fantasy points per game against the Cardinals.

Last week,  C.J. Anderson who started for Todd Gurley, rushed for nearly a career high 167 yards and punched in a touchdown.

Even though the Seahawks clinched, they still have something to play for. If Seattle win, they will secure the fifth seed, but if they lose and the Vikings win, they will be the sixth seed.
