High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

JaVale McGee (at OKC – $4,800): Needs 22.8 fantasy points. McGee was moved to the bench against the Bulls and had 21.5 fantasy points. His salary has dropped and his minutes are definitely a concern right now. But he did have 33.5 fantasy points against the Thunder on Jan. 2 if you’re looking for some confidence in him. Diagnosis: A risk because minutes are a concern right now but a good ceiling if the minutes happen to be there.

Bobby Portis (at DEN – $4,600): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. Portis has been all over the place this season as his minutes haven’t always been there. But with WCJ out of the lineup, it could lead to more minutes for Portis. And given the matchup and the Nuggets frontcourt, they could rely on Portis more as well. It’s a lot of IFs but there are positive signs heading into this game. Diagnosis: High ceiling if things break the way they possibly could.

Richaun Holmes (at TOR – $4,200): Needs 19.7 fantasy points. Holmes doesn’t play a lot of minutes but he makes those minutes count. He’s been over 23 fantasy points in his last four games and over 30 fantasy points in two of those games. He’s not going to hurt you much at this salary and the ceiling isn’t bad. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
