The NFL Draft is a month away and the Buffalo Bills sit inside the top-ten with a bevy of needs.

General manager Brandon Beane of the Buffalo Bills was not afraid to take risks a year ago in the NFL Draft. Selecting Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen was considered a risk. He was a player that had all the athletic and physical tools in the world but played in a small conference. The statistics did not bode well for Allen.

Beane took that risk, selecting Allen inside the top ten and the big athletic quarterback is looking like he was a great find. While his accolades came mostly running the ball, Allen showed enough to make Buffalo fans hopeful that they found their franchise quarterback.

With the second of two first round picks Beane took another risk. This time on young athletic linebacker Trumaine Edmunds. The Virginia Tech backer was considered by many one of the best athletes in the draft but very raw at the linebacker position. Edmunds rewarded Beane and the Bills franchise by starting 15 games and leading the team in tackles. He is a building block for an already strong defense despite only being 20 years old.

The future looks bright in Buffalo thanks to Beane and some strong drafts as of late. The key, looking forward to the 2019 NFL Draft is to continue that trend. Buffalo owns the ninth overall pick in the first round. They also own all their own picks, plus an additional pick in the fourth and fifth rounds thanks to previous trades. That is solid ammunition for a team to go with the fourth most cap space in the league.

Buffalo can go in plenty of directions in the draft. Here is how they can best utilize their picks. This mock draft was done using TheDraftNetwork’s mock draft machine and my own personal big board.
