The Players Championship 2019 betting odds: Who are the favorites?

Here are the latest betting odds for the 2019 edition of The Players Championship from TPC Sawgrass.

Back in its March spot on the PGA Tour schedule, The Players Championship annually boasts one of the strongest fields of the season and the 2019 edition is no different. As it has since 1982, TPC Sawgrass plays host to golf’s unofficial fifth major championship and the top players in the world will converge on Ponte Vedra Beach this week for one of the most exciting tournaments of the year.

To the surprise of nobody, world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, who cruised to a five-shot victory at the WGC-Mexico Championship in his latest outing, is the favorite at Sawgrass at 12-1. However, Johnson does have some company at the top of the latest odds as the man who came in second that week, Rory McIlroy, joins him as the co-favorite. While he hasn’t yet been able to close out a victory in 2019, McIlroy hasn’t finished lower than sixth in his five starts this year and is playing some fantastic golf.

World number four Justin Thomas, who hasn’t let his disapproval of some of golf’s new rules stop him from carding three top-3 finishes in six starts in 2019, is next up at 16-1, followed by world number two Justin Rose and 2015 Players champ Rickie Fowler at 20-1. Two-time defending U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka is part of a trio listed at 22-1, a group that includes this past week’s winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Francesco Molinari, and Tiger Woods, a two-time winner of The Players.

Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele round out the top favorites at 25-1 while defending champion Webb Simpson sits at 50-1.
