Rob Gronkowski should follow Dwayne Johnson’s path to Hollywood stardom

Rob Gronkowski’s next move, Eminem’s idea to get more people watching the AAF, Bears-Packers kick off the NFL season and Andy Reid is a fashion icon.

Rob Gronkowski is retiring from the NFL and his next stop should be Hollywood.

Gronk should follow the path set by Dwayne Johnson from professional athlete to the big screen. He’s perfect for the camera, everyone loves him, and he’s silly and charming enough to appeal to a wide audience. He could be the next great action star or comedy sidekick. I’d love to see the two of them in a movie together and I bet the world does too.

We definitely haven’t seen the last of Gronk who won’t be moving to Montana and live a life of seclusion. He’s going to be in front of a camera, making people laugh and putting on a show. I guarantee he’ll star in at least one movie before he’s enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in five years.

American Alliance of Football Fighting?

If Marshall Mathers had his way, he’d allow fighting in the AAF as a way to attract viewers. This idea might be so dumb it’s brilliant. You know you’d tune in if there was a chance to see an all-22 brawl at midfield after any given play. Vince McMahon better hire Em to lead the rules committee for the XFL.

Da Bears

It’s easy to bash the NFL for some of the tone-deaf, half-baked decisions the NFL makes. But kudos to them for making the opening game at Soldier Field for the Chicago Bears 100th season as they’ll host the rival Green Bay Packers. Normally the Super Bowl champion kicks off the season, but this way the NFL gets to avoid Robert Kraft’s prostitution arrest taint opening night. How convenient.

Andy Reid’s closet is full of Tommy Bahama shirts

He does it every year, but Andy Reid remains a fashion icon. His wardrobe at the NFL annual meetings is lifted right from the Destination XL catalogs. This isn’t just a wardrobe choice, this is a lifestyle.

On this day

On this day in 1972, the Los Angeles Lakers set the record for the nicest season in NBA history, winning their 69th game of the year.
