DC Comics previews and pull list for March 27, 2019
This week’s DC Comics news features a look at the supersized Detective Comics #1000 and Batman birthday plans at WonderCon.
It’s another exciting week for DC Comics fans with an exciting list of new titles coming out on New Comic Book Day, as well as news from around the DC Comics universe. From Batman’s 80th anniversary celebration at WonderCon to the release of the highly anticipated Detective Comics #1000, it’s a great time to be a Batman fan.
DC Comics is pulling out all of the stops at WonderCon 2019, which takes place in Anaheim March 29-31. Batman’s official 80th anniversary is March 30 and there will be a big birthday bash for the Dark Knight featuring an all-star lineup at the Happy Birthday Batman panel on Saturday afternoon. Special guests include David Mazouz (Gotham), Jim Lee, Lee Meriwether (Catwoman, 1966 Batman series), Kevin Conroy (legendary Batman voice actor), Roger Craig Smith (Batman: Arkham Origins) and Grace Randolph (Pop culture expert).
There will be special Batman-themed programming each day of the convention, and the WonderCon program guide will pay tribute to the Dark Knight with a special cover from Lee Weeks.

Get ready to go on an epic hunt to find all of the collector’s covers of Detective Comics #1000. There are 12 covers of the special edition anniversary issue, with eight of those issues featuring a spotlight on Batman over the ages. Top DC Comics talent have created covers that celebrate a different decade of the Bat, but the trick is finding them. Some issues are comic-shop exclusives, which means you’ll have to order them online in order to add them to your collection.
Detective Comics #1000 combines top-level stories from today’s top writers and artists. Each story takes the Dark Knight on a different adventure as seen through the unique lens of each writer. If you buy one comic book this year, this is the one to get.
