1. New York Giants

The Giants are easily the team in this trio that needs Rosen the most. GM Dave Gettleman should be looking for a quarterback to serve as the team’s starter this season. Even though they’re committed to playing Eli Manning for another year, they should make a strong bid to acquire Rosen immediately.

If you watched Rosen play at UCLA he looked a lot like Manning did when he was coming out of Ole Miss. Neither guy looked totally locked in at the collegiate level, but NFL teams found it easy to fall in love with their arm talent. Manning’s focus improved as a professional and he was able to lead the Giants to Super Bowl glory as a result.

Rosen would need some luck and solid development to have the same kind of career, but the Giants have to find a player capable of taking over for Manning next season. Their two choices are to trade for a player like Rosen or spend a high pick to acquire a prospect in this year’s draft.

If New York’s scouts place a high grade on Rosen it would certainly be cheaper to deal for him than to acquire a rookie with a similar amount of talent. The Giants are the only team on this list who might benefit from dealing a late first round pick for Rosen. Don’t be shocked if Dave Gettleman bites the bullet and gives up a first for Rosen before the draft.
