Real Madrid face Eibar at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, April 6. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Pretty much everyone who watched Zinedine Zidane’s first match back in charge against Celta Vigo could see that the Frenchman’s return hadn’t solved Real Madrid’s problems, even if they did run out winners that day.

So it perhaps shouldn’t have been too much of a shock when Madrid lost on Wednesday to Valencia, who have been steadily rising up the table since that strange early-season period in which they couldn’t stop drawing matches. Zidane’s post-match admission that “maybe in these games we lack some motivation” was hardly an inspiring call to arms.

Eibar finished 18th their debut La Liga season back in 2014-15 and would have immediately dropped out of the league had Elche not been relegated instead due to financial issues. But since then, Eibar have established themselves in the Spanish top flight, currently sitting in 10th position after ending the past two campaigns comfortably in mid-table.

Madrid’s season effectively ended when they were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax at the start of March, a malaise that Eibar will perhaps be able to take advantage of here.
