32 college football players destined to be future first round NFL Draft picks
1. Trevor Lawrence – Quarterback, Clemson
There weren’t a ton of for sure 2021 prospects on this list, but we all knew who would be at the top.
The hype around Trevor Lawrence dates back to his early years of high school, and he’s lived up to it. As a freshman, Lawrence took over full-time in the middle of last season and helped lead Clemson to a national championship and a freshman record 30 touchdown passes.
And it only seems fitting that the person who broke Deshaun Watson’s Georgia high school state passing records is now leading the Clemson Tigers to titles.
Lawrence has rare arm talent with the strength to make any throw on the field along with accuracy on all three levels. In the most significant moment of the Clemson’s season, Lawrence had the calmness of a senior and put on two masterful performances against Notre Dame and Alabama. Lawrence has a number of great weapons around him at receiver and running back, but he has taken this offense to an entirely different level.
If he continues to progress, it will be a race to the bottom for NFL teams to get the right to make him their franchise quarterback.
