Out of tragedy comes a reignited bond between wrestling’s female superstars as “The Squared Circle Sisterhood” unites in support of Ashley Massaro and her daughter Alexa.

They say in wrestling if you’re lucky enough to walk away from the business with one true friend then you can count yourself blessed. Ashley Massaro stepped away from the world of pro wrestling with many friends, and many fans, all of whom were devastated to learn that just a week removed from what would be her 40th birthday, Massaro took her own life. None were more impacted by this news than Massaro’s daughter, Alexa.

The 18-year-old expressed her grief and heartbreak on her social media pages in the wake of her mother’s passing. Other messages began to flood social media as Ashley’s sisters in wrestling posted their reactions to the news and memories of their time spent with Ashley. Within the grief and heartache that poured out, they all began to reach out to one another for comfort and to share stories. During their discussions, a decision was made to support Alexa in any way they could. A GoFundMe campaign was set up in honor of Ashely and to give Alexa the support she so desperately needs right now.

Dubbing themselves “The Squared Circle Sisterhood” many stepped up not just monetarily, but with a video message for Alexa to let her know she wasn’t alone in this. In a little over one day since the Gofundme campaign launched over $30,000 has been raised for Ashley Massaro’s Daughter’s Educational Fund.

The former WWE women’s superstars have reached out to the current WWE women’s superstars and the message to help Alexa, and honor Ashley, is being shared all over Twitter and Instagram pages. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has also championed this cause posting his own memories and photos of Ashley to his timeline.

When something like this happens it’s difficult to make sense of it all. But one thing “The Squared Circle Sisterhood” is trying to do is make sure Alexa knows she is not alone in this.
