PSG unsurprisingly finished first in Ligue 1 by a comfortable margin, but their disastrous second leg against Manchester United in the Champions League will have them looking for reinforcements in another busy summer.

Most of the transfer rumors surrounding PSG focus on the star players who may be leaving the club this summer. Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have been linked to Real Madrid, who are intent on rebounding after their own Champions League and domestic failures in 2018-2019.

PSG are generally good for a big transfer or two, and while they have an envious attack with young stars like Mbappe and veterans like Angel Di Maria combining effectively, they could always add a couple of more pieces.

Plus, PSG could grab another goalkeeper with Gianluigi Buffon departing the club. Thomas Tuchel has an important summer transfer window ahead of him, but only tweaks are likely necessary for the Ligue 1’s best club.

Here are five possible transfer targets for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Keylor Navas

“New” Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has tabbed Thibaut Courtois as his starting goalkeeper going forward, so Keylor Navas is now surplus goods to Los Blancos. For years, Navas has been one of La Liga’s best keepers, either carrying Levante or winning Champions League titles as arguably Madrid’s most under-appreciated keeper.

Even though Navas is 32, he has several years of top-flight goalkeeping left in him. Arguably a better player than Courtois, Navas appeared in just 10 La Liga games last season after being a regular with 27 appearances in 2017-2018.

Marca reports that PSG have discussed a deal with Navas, who would likely come at pennies on the dollar for any interested club. To this point, only PSG have been strongly linked to the Costa Rican star, and he’d be a great replacement for Buffon as the veteran keeper alongside 26-year-old starter Alphonse Areola.

Motivated to prove that Real Madrid made a mistake by undervaluing him again, Navas could be an excellent signing for Thomas Tuchel’s side. At this stage of their careers, Areola will be the clear No. 1 for PSG, but since Buffon appeared in 17 games last season, fans shouldn’t be surprised if Navas received significant playing time in Ligue 1. Furthermore, his Champions League and big-tournament experience in the World Cup’s knockout stages could come in handy.
