High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $8,333

Andre Iguodala (at TOR – $5,400): Needs 22.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 21.5 fantasy points against Toronto. You know what you’re getting out of Iguodala and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. He’s a great salary saver because he’s at a good cost and you know the minutes and opportunities will be there for him. He should definitely be on your team for a variety of reasons. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Serge Ibaka (vs GS – $5,000): Needs 18.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.5 fantasy points against Toronto. I’ve mentioned Ibaka in passing plenty of times (and even had him in my final lineup despite not giving him full attention) because I love his game in this series. And now he’s getting the full paragraph treatment, which means he will probably end up faltering. But I love his versatility and he showed his value in Game 4. If the minutes are there, he’ll make an impact. A good low-cost captain. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Marc Gasol (vs GS – $6,000): Needs 27.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.25 fantasy points against Golden State. You know what you’re getting from Gasol at this point. He’s a slightly more reliable option than Ibaka because his minutes are more guaranteed but I don’t find his ceiling to be quite as high because he hasn’t shown it just yet. But given the salary, he’s a solid captain pick to help you save money. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
