Blues superfan Laila Armstrong inspires St. Louis to first Stanley Cup

Blues superfan Laila Armstrong is the team’s good luck charm, let the USWNT celebrate, the Bears kicking woes continue and Knicks fans recruit Kevin Durant.

Blues win it for Laila

The Blues won their first Stanley Cup after 50 years. They did it with good luck charm and Blues superfan Laila Armstrong who was in Boston with her mom. Laila got the good news that doctors cleared her to travel on Tuesday, and honestly, it was over for the Bruins after that.

Laila is battling HLH, a life-threatening immune disease disorder, and had been confined to her home and the hospital. That was until Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals when she helped give the Blues a much-needed inspirational lift.

I’m a Blackhawks fan so by sports law, I’m not supposed to like the Blues, but I was rooting so hard for Laila to see the Blues lift the Cup in front of her eyes.

They did. They won for Laila. She even got to kiss the Cup. Bigger than sports.

Don’t you dare complain about the USWNT celebrating

After the USWNT 13-0 win over Thailand in the Women’s World Cup, there was plenty of controversy over people who were miffed by their audacity to celebrate their accomplishments. This is the freaking World Cup! Why would are you offended by exuberance?!

These people have trained their whole life for this moment. You aren’t the sportsmanship police. And how ridiculous is this considering Brandi Chastain ripping her jersey off after scoring the winning penalty kick to win the 1999 World Cup is one of the most iconic moments of all-time.

Bears give Blewitt the boot

Chris Blewitt, well, blew his shot to win the Bears kicker job. He’s the loser of the three-man kicking competition with Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro left standing. Although, I wouldn’t call either of them winners just yet after all three missed 42-yarders at the end of Tuesday’s minicamp practice. It might be time for the Bears to hold open tryouts like colleges do when they’re desperate and find someone who played soccer in high school.

Knicks fans are the worst

It’s not easy being a Knicks fan, but a few of them have made it easy to revel in their misery. Four Knicks fans made posters in an attempt to recruit Kevin Durant to New York. These fellas are so thirsty and it looks like they’re campaigning to be the middle school treasurer.
