High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $12,000

Serge Ibaka (at GS – $10,500): Needs 36.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.7 fantasy points against Golden State. Ibaka isn’t seeing many minutes but he continues to do exactly what he needs to do in the minutes he’s given. Maybe play him more, Nick Nurse? He’s a good option but his salary has jumped in a big way and with his lack of minutes, that is slightly concerning. But his ceiling is high if by chance he ends up seeing more run. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

DeMarcus Cousins (vs TOR – $8,000): Needs 25.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.7 fantasy points against Toronto. I still don’t know what you’re going to get out of Cousins because he’s not 100% healthy but I also don’t know what you’re going to get out of Looney because he’s not even close to 100% healthy. And you’re definitely not getting anything out of Jordan Bell. And Cousins is at a good enough salary to where he can make an impact on a good cost. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Marc Gasol (at GS – $10,000): Needs 32.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.6 fantasy points against Golden State. Gasol is consistent, which is good. He’s more consistent than Ibaka but he does have a slightly lower ceiling. Gasol hasn’t proven that he can have a big game in this series but he is consistent and that does count for something. A good UTIL player and possibly a PRO depending on how you build your roster. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
